Established in 1990, (and growing out of Thermoclear UK, the original importers into the UK of Thermoclear multiwall polycarbonate sheets used for glazing applications) the business was established as a supplier of multiwall polycarbonate glazing, glazing bars and accessories both direct to the building trade and through a network of national distributors. Since then Twinfix has grown from just polycarbonate glazing and glazing bars to include the design and manufacture of pre-assembled polycarbonate panels for industrial roof glazing. A major design feature of one of our polycarbonate roofing panel systems, the Multi-Link-Panel NF, is a patented reinforcing technique which allows these roofing panels to pass the HSE test procedure for Non Fragile roofing (ACR[M]001:2005) as detailed in HSG33. This means that should anyone gain access on to a roof fitted with these panels and trip on to the glazing, they will not fall through it.
Following the development of these pre-assembled polycarbonate glazing panels we designed a lean-to aluminium canopy system glazed with polycarbonate roofing in the form of our Multi-Link-Panel, aimed in the early days at the domestic market. This product then found a ready fit in the commercial market, especially for schools, and from this original canopy design we developed into a range of commercial canopies, including free standing structures and glazed covered walkways, and now offer a wide range of different roof shapes and can design whatever is required to best fit our clients' needs.
Achieving CHAS and Constructionline accreditation has been a vital part of our continual focus on Health and Safety and has reinforced a Health and Safety culture throughout the whole of the Twinfix business.
