288 Structural glazing bar

Versatile glazing bar for use with 25mm multiwall or 24mm double glazed glass

A recent introduction to the Twinfix range is the P288, an aluminium bar system for glazing 25mm multiwall polycarbonate that also accommodates standard 24mm double glazed glass units.

The P288 spans 4000mm with 25mm multiwall at 1250mm centres and 2600mm with the 24mm glass units at 600mm centres.  And, simply by fitting an ingenious aluminium gasket carrier, it can also glaze 6mm glass.  The carrier, as its name suggests, holds a gasket and simply slides into the capping bar in place of the gasket, producing a bar cap with deeper sides.  Twinfix believe that 6mm glass will probably use the same spans and centres as the 24mm glass units, however, they have not carried out tests to confirm this.

The P288 consists of an aluminium base and a screw down aluminium capping bar that clamps the glazing firmly and securely in place.  It is also available with a white PVCu underclad for use in enclosed areas, reference P288U.  This structural bar system is available with a mill finish and powder coated in brown or white.  It can be ordered as either pre-packs or as loose items. 

Twinfix offer a selected range of popular RAL colours with a matt finish as standard.  These are not stock items, but the 288 can be powder coated in one of these colours at no extra price and within short time frames.  Alternatively, non-standard RAL colours and finishes are also available, but may attract an additional price premium and a longer delivery time.
