Polycarbonate Glazing Bars

Twinfix, when they were known as Thermoclear UK, were the first company in Europe to offer glazing bars that were specifically designed for installing multiwall polycarbonate glazing sheet. Traditional glazing bars used to fit glass are not wide enough for polycarbonate. Most of the Twinfix polycarbonate glazing bars are around 60mm wide and many of them are manufactured from aluminium. The 60mm width provides sufficient edge engagement to hold the relatively flexible polycarbonate glazing securely in place.

Over the years Twinfix have continued to develop their range of polycarbonate glazing bars and now offer an extremely wide selection of bar systems, some of which have also found favour for installing glass and double-glazed glass units.

Most of the Twinfix glazing bars and complementary fixing accessories are manufactured from powder coated aluminium, and are available as standard in either white or brown.  For a minimum quantity order you can also select other colours. 

We have divided our polycarbonate glazing bars into two sections, Structural Glazing Bar Systems or Rafter Gasket Systems.  You will find various ranges of bar systems within each section and the one you choose will depend upon the actual configuration of your roof and the type of system that you wish to use.  Please select the relevant section below that fits your requirements. 

If you click on Fixing Accessories you will find a range of other products, such as end plates, U profiles and side trims.  These are all designed to make installing a polycarbonate glazed roof as easy as possible.  The Bar Support Systems includes aluminium wall plates, eaves beams and posts.
