Twinfix System Used: Multi-Link-Panel NF
One of the major requirements of this college was for roof glazing that conformed to the ACR[M]001:2000 - Test for Fragility of Roofing Assemblies, as required in the HSE (Health & Safety Executive) Document HSG33. The Twinfix Multi-Link-Panel NF does just that. Fitted with 16mm multiwall polycarbonate glazing, each Multi-Link-Panel NF measures 1000mm wide. Where the glazing run required a different width panel at the beginning or end of a run this was accommodated by installing a Multi-Link-Panel fitted with Isoplan Top rather than the multiwall glazing. Isoplan Top from Coseley Panel Products is an aluminium faced, fully insulated panel.
Falls through fragile materials are a particular problem in building maintenance and account for more than 25% of deaths in this sector. Twinfix have performed the necessary drop tests onto the Multi-Link-Panel NF, far surpassing all the HSE requirements.
The Multi-Link-Panel NF combines a maintenance-free aluminium frame with virtually unbreakable multiwall polycarbonate glazing. A variety of polycarbonate thicknesses and tints is available to allow a more effective control of light and heat transmission. Multi-Link-Panels are fitted as northlights over classrooms, corridors and workshops to replace failed corrugated GRP (Glass Reinforced Polymer) and Georgian wired glass. Twinfix make the panels to individual specifications for every project.
