Aluminium Eaves Beam
The 291 aluminium eaves beam is a simple support structure used when installing Twinfix structural glazing systems such as the P227, P280, P284, P288 and the P600.
It is installed at the foot end of a roof slope usually onto a post, wall or suitable support and its simple design enables glazing bars to be positioned at pitch angles ranging from 5° to 25°.
When used with a typical light-weight polycarbonate glazing system, the eaves beam will span 3 metres between supports. In certain situations, it can be reinforced to span up to 4 metres.

|Length:||4m and 6m as standard.|
How it works
The eaves beam is fixed at the foot of a roof slope. The fixings to be used are dependent on the structure the eaves beam is being fixed into. If installed correctly, the eaves beam will look like a lower case letter ‘p’ shape when viewed from the side with fixing made through the downturned leg.
Eaves beam end plates (ref. 291EP) are fitted to the ends of the eaves beam using the end plate fixing screws supplied.
The glazing bar base is then screwed to the eaves beam and the glazing sheet installed as per the fixing instructions available for each bar system.
A gap will be created between the top of the eaves beam and the underside of the glazing sheet, unless this gap is filled, rain, dirt, insects will be allowed in. Twinfix recommend installing the P226F or P285F eaves filler to fill this gap.
Mill finish as well as polyester powder coated white (RAL9910 satin) and brown (RAL8040 satin) are available as standard. We can also supply the 291 eaves beam painted to a specific RAL colour although this may be subject to a minimum quantity requirement and surcharge.
