Rafter Glazing Bars

You can select from a wide range of rafter glazing bar systems, three of which have a screw-down aluminium capping bar and will accommodate glass as well as polycarbonate. The 60mm screw-down bar is our preferred option for any roof that is in an exposed area, especially for 25mm wide multiwall, as it will hold the glazing very securely in place.

All these rafter bars need to be timber supported along their full length and should be installed at a minimum pitch of 5 degrees. They are available in white and brown and our Glazing Accessories page holds a wide range of complementary fixings.

Please note that we recommend the use of stainless steel screws with all of our aluminium bar systems.

You can select from:

  • P261 – 60mm wide screw-down aluminium capping bar and rubber rafter gasket
  • P320 – 60mm wide screw-down aluminium capping bar with a hidden fixing, and rubber rafter gasket
  • P501 – 50mm wide screw-down aluminium capping bar and rubber rafter gasket
  • P700 - 45mm wide aluminium base bar with a snap fit PVCu co-extruded cap

Related FAQs

1. Can I use your glazing bars to install glass?
You can use all of our bars to install glass, with the exception of the P600 and P700 Snap-fit systems. However, please note that you will need to use a Mechanical End Plate to ensure the glass is held securely in place; the plastic end plates that are supplied with the bars are only suitable for use with multiwall polycarbonate.
