Twinfix curved canopies combine contemporary architectural design with proven engineering expertise, creating elegant, functional structures that provide long-term weather protection and visual impact. Defined by their smooth, arched roof profile, curved canopies are well suited to applications where aesthetics and performance carry equal weight — from school entrances and covered walkways to transport environments, courtyards, and commercial developments.
The distinctive curved roof profile creates a strong architectural feature that enhances both modern and traditional buildings. Beyond visual appeal, the arched form supports effective rainwater management and contributes to structural strength through its inherent geometry.
The curved design can also provide greater internal clearance at the centre of the span, helping to create a lighter, more open environment beneath the canopy.
Each curved canopy is designed, engineered and manufactured in the UK by Twinfix’s in-house team. We work closely with architects, contractors and end clients to develop solutions that satisfy performance requirements, planning considerations and design intent — ensuring each installation integrates seamlessly with its surroundings.

Twinfix curved canopies are fabricated using high-quality, powder-coated aluminium framing, selected for its strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance. Aluminium offers long service life with minimal maintenance requirements and can be finished in any RAL colour to coordinate with project branding or adjacent buildings. A timber-effect powder coating is also available, delivering the appearance of wood with the longevity and resilience of aluminium.
Roof glazing options typically include solid or multiwall polycarbonate, providing high levels of light transmission, UV protection and impact resistance. Polycarbonate is significantly lighter than glass and offers enhanced safety characteristics in overhead applications, while maintaining a bright and welcoming space beneath the canopy.
Twinfix curved canopies offer complete design flexibility, with a wide choice of polycarbonate options to suit every environment. From soft opal tints that diffuse light to crystal‑clear glazing and even solid, glass‑like finishes, customers can tailor the look and performance of their canopy with ease. Our aluminium frames are available in a full range of long‑lasting powder‑coated colours, ensuring a vibrant, durable finish that enhances any setting. For projects seeking a natural aesthetic without the maintenance of real timber, we also offer specialist timber‑effect powder coating that delivers the warmth and appearance of wood with the strength of aluminium.
Safety is integral to every Twinfix system. Our non-fragile roof assemblies have been independently tested in accordance with ACR[M]001:2019, providing confidence for use in education, rail and public environments. Anti-climb guttering can be incorporated where required to enhance security and reduce unauthorised access.
All structures are engineered in accordance with relevant UK design standards and project-specific load requirements, including wind and snow loading.
Twinfix curved canopies are designed for long-term performance. Aluminium is fully recyclable and polycarbonate can also be recycled at end of life, supporting responsible material selection. The durability of both materials, combined with low maintenance requirements, contributes to reduced whole-life costs and long-term asset value.
Twinfix curved canopies are widely specified across the education, healthcare, rail and commercial sectors. They are commonly used to:
Enhance building entrances
Provide sheltered external circulation routes
Create covered dining or breakout areas
Connect new and existing buildings
Deliver architectural focal points within courtyards or forecourts
Whatever the setting, a Twinfix curved canopy delivers a distinctive architectural form supported by engineered performance, durability and compliance — providing dependable protection for years to come.
