Multi-Link-Panel Non-Fragile Roof Glazing System

At Twinfix, safety and compliance are central to everything we do. Our Multi-Link-Panel Non-Fragile (NF) roof glazing system is a market-leading solution designed to deliver long-term safety, durability, and visual appeal across a wide range of sectors including rail, education, healthcare, and commercial environments.

Tested to the Highest Standards

The Multi-Link-Panel NF has been rigorously tested in line with HSE ACR[M]001:2019, the definitive industry test for non-fragility of profiled roofing and cladding systems. The system achieved a B classification, the highest non-fragile rating available for polycarbonate roof glazing. This classification demonstrates that the system can safely resist impact during installation and throughout its service life, giving specifiers and duty holders absolute confidence in compliance with health and safety requirements.

Benefits of the Multi-Link-Panel

Proven Safety

Achieves Class B non-fragile status under ACR[M]001:2019.

Durability

Manufactured from high-performance aluminium and polycarbonate, ensuring long-lasting performance even in demanding environments.

Speed of Installation

The modular, pre-assembled design reduces time on site and minimises disruption to live environments such as schools or railway stations.

Sustainability

Both aluminium frames and polycarbonate glazing are fully recyclable, reducing environmental impact, while polycarbonate delivers lightweight, durable, low-maintenance performance.

Low Maintenance

The system is designed to remain structurally sound and visually clear with minimal upkeep.

Non-Fragile Roof Glazing

The Multi-Link-Panel NF system is engineered to deliver enhanced impact resistance and safe load distribution, reducing the risk of panel failure under maintenance or accidental foot traffic. Designed to meet recognised non-fragility standards, it provides specifiers and building operators with confidence in long-term performance, durability, and safety. By combining high-strength polycarbonate with an integrated linking structure, the system supports safer working practices while maintaining excellent light transmission and weather protection. Further technical detail and guidance are available on the dedicated non-fragility page.

Drop Test Performance

A critical element of the ACR[M]001:2019 assessment is the drop test, which replicates a fall onto the glazing system. The Twinfix Multi-Link-Panel NF successfully withstood this test, demonstrating that it retains integrity under significant impact. This performance reassures specifiers, contractors, and end users that the system will protect workers and building users both during installation and throughout its service life.

Polycarbonate Options

Twinfix Multi-Link Panels offer a range of polycarbonate glazing options to meet performance and aesthetic requirements. Standard panels use 16 mm multiwall polycarbonate, providing a lightweight, impact- and weather-resistant solution for canopy and roof glazing.

Glazing is available in Clear or Opal to control light transmission and visual finish. Solid polycarbonate options, including clear and Georgian wired-effect finishes, replicate the look of glass while delivering lower weight, greater strength and non-fragile performance. These are particularly suited to rail environments, where durability and safety are essential.

Multi-Link Thermal

The Twinfix Multi-Link Thermal rooflight system enhances the Multi-Link-Panel NF, improving thermal efficiency while maintaining strength and reliability. It delivers a lower U-value to reduce heat loss and achieves a Class B non-fragility rating in line with ACR [M]001:2019. Lightweight, factory-assembled panels combine aluminium frames with high-performance polycarbonate glazing, making it ideal for both new-build and refurbishment projects, particularly where structural load is limited.

Designed to maximise natural daylight and reduce reliance on artificial lighting in environments such as schools, healthcare and public buildings, the system also features Twinfix’s fix-and-link method for fast, efficient installation with minimal disruption.

Case Studies

Our project portfolio reflects the successful delivery of thousands of canopy and roof glazing installations across the UK, covering education, healthcare, transport, retail and public sector environments. Each project demonstrates Twinfix’s ability to manage complex briefs, challenging sites and demanding performance requirements, from concept and design through to manufacture and installation. Together, these projects showcase our consistent delivery of high-quality, reliable and visually integrated solutions that add long-term value for our clients and their facilities.

Restoring Lancaster Station: A Collaborative Effort in Heritage and Innovation

“The works to renew the platform canopies at Lancaster have transformed the station whilst retaining its grade II listed heritage. The new Georgian Wire effect Twinfix glazing has provided a great blend of new technology which will help to maintain the canopies for years to come whilst retaining the stations original look and feel.” Mike Thomas, Scheme Project Manager, Network Rail
