Twinfix designs and installs high-quality smoking shelters that provide safe, designated outdoor areas for employees, visitors and service users. Offering both weather protection and compliance with legislation, our smoking shelters are engineered to perform reliably in demanding environments while blending seamlessly with surrounding architecture.
Since the introduction of smoke-free workplace legislation, organisations have been required to provide appropriate outdoor spaces where smoking can take place away from building entrances and internal areas. A well-designed smoking shelter not only supports compliance but also helps manage health, safety and welfare considerations. By creating a clearly defined space, our shelters enable organisations to maintain a clean, professional image while ensuring staff and visitors are catered for in a responsible way.
Our smoking shelters are manufactured from aluminium – lightweight, corrosion-resistant and low maintenance – with the option of steel frames where additional strength or wider spans are required. A choice of powder-coated finishes allows each shelter to be tailored to suit the building’s façade or wider site identity, while glazing options in clear, opal or bronze polycarbonate provide protection from the elements without compromising natural light.
For heritage or conservation environments, Georgian wired polycarbonate can also be specified, replicating the appearance of traditional wired glass while offering superior strength, impact resistance and safety performance.

Obscure polycarbonate provides diffused light while maintaining privacy, making it ideal for areas where discretion is required.
Twinfix structures are finished with high-quality polyester powder coating, available in the full RAL range to complement any architectural scheme.
Timber-effect finishes provide the appearance of natural wood while retaining the durability and low maintenance of aluminium.
All Twinfix shelters are designed with safety and compliance at their core. The Multi-Link-Panel Non-Fragile roofing system, tested to ACR[M]001:2019, can be incorporated to deliver a robust roof covering that meets HSE non-fragility requirements. Structural components are UKCA-marked, providing assurance that each installation meets current standards for strength and durability.
Every smoking shelter is bespoke, designed to meet the specific requirements of the site. Whether for a compact facility serving a small workforce or a larger installation intended for a high-traffic environment, we tailor the design to ensure usability, durability and ease of maintenance. Optional extras such as post protectors, anti-climb guttering and vinyl wraps for glazing can also be incorporated, providing opportunities to enhance safety, safeguarding and visual appeal.
