Twinfix polycarbonate roofing systems provide a strong, lightweight, and versatile solution for creating bright, weather-protected spaces across a wide range of sectors. Combining modern design with proven performance, our systems are used nationwide in schools, healthcare facilities, transport environments, commercial properties, and leisure settings.
Polycarbonate is a high-performance thermoplastic material that offers outstanding strength and impact resistance while remaining significantly lighter than glass. It is ideal for use in canopies, walkways, shelters, and roof glazing applications where natural light, safety, and longevity are key considerations.
At Twinfix, we have been designing and supplying polycarbonate roofing systems for over 35 years. Our extensive experience allows us to recommend the most suitable product for each project, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and budget.
We offer a range of multiwall and solid polycarbonate glazing options to meet the needs of different environments. Multiwall polycarbonate provides excellent thermal insulation and diffused light, making it a popular choice for covered walkways, outdoor learning areas, and entrance canopies. It is available in various thicknesses and tints, including clear, bronze, and opal, to control light transmission and solar gain.
For projects requiring a glass-like appearance, our solid polycarbonate sheets offer exceptional clarity and impact resistance, making them ideal for applications where transparency and aesthetics are important. Solid sheets can also be specified in UV-stabilised and heat-reflective options, providing protection against discolouration and helping to maintain a comfortable environment beneath the canopy.
All our polycarbonate roofing systems are designed to comply with non-fragile roofing requirements, tested in accordance with ACR[M]001:2019. This ensures that our installations meet the highest standards of safety, particularly in environments such as schools and rail stations where maintenance access is required.
For heritage and conservation environments, Twinfix offers polycarbonate glazing with a Georgian wired glass effect, providing the traditional appearance of wired glass while delivering the strength, lightness, and impact resistance of modern polycarbonate. This specialist glazing option is particularly well-suited to heritage railway stations, listed buildings, and period-style developments where preserving the character and authenticity of the original architecture is essential.
The Georgian wired effect is created using an embossed pattern that replicates the appearance of traditional wired glass, allowing designers to achieve a sympathetic aesthetic while benefitting from a non-fragile, shatter-resistant, and low-maintenance solution. It offers an ideal balance between heritage styling and contemporary performance.
Polycarbonate is an ideal glazing solution for canopy roofing, offering excellent light transmission, durability and long term performance. When combined with Twinfix’s Multi Link Panel Non-Fragile system and our polycarbonate sheet range, it provides a robust, specification led solution that is non fragile in accordance with the HSE’s ACR[M]001:2019, supporting safer access and ongoing maintenance requirements for roof level applications.
