Oldham Library has recently undergone a significant renovation, enhancing its role as a key civic and cultural hub within the town. As part of these improvements, Twinfix was appointed to design, manufacture, and install three bespoke entrance canopies to support accessibility, protection, and visual cohesion across the site.
Twinfix delivered three tailored canopy solutions across distinct access points at the civic centre, theatre workshop, and staff entrance. Each structure was carefully designed to complement the building’s modernised aesthetic while providing reliable weather protection for visitors and staff.
The installation included a cantilevered reverse mono-pitch canopy at the civic centre entrance, alongside two free-standing mono-pitch canopies at the theatre workshop and staff access points. Despite differing structural requirements, all three canopies were unified through a consistent material and finish specification.
The refurbishment of Oldham Library called for high-quality external features that would integrate seamlessly with the upgraded architecture while enhancing the user experience. Twinfix delivered three aluminium canopies using Alu-link-panel roofing, combining durability with a clean, contemporary finish. The civic centre canopy adopts a cantilevered reverse mono-pitch design to maximise open access space, while the theatre workshop and staff entrances feature free-standing mono-pitch structures.
All three canopies are powder-coated in RAL 7015 (Slate Grey), creating a cohesive visual identity across the site. The installation improves weather protection, accessibility, and overall usability, while maintaining a consistent aesthetic. At the same time, the variation in structural design reflects Twinfix’s ability to deliver tailored solutions aligned to specific project requirements.
