Twinfix was appointed to design, manufacture and install a series of free-standing canopies at Mynydd Isa School in Mold. Delivered as part of a major new education campus, the project focused on enhancing outdoor spaces, creating sheltered and flexible areas to support pupils and staff throughout the year.
Twinfix delivered a coordinated canopy solution across multiple areas of the school, ensuring consistency in design while addressing different functional requirements.
The installation comprised several Free Standing Mono Pitch (FSM) canopies, with selected structures incorporating roller shutters and Easiglaze side glazing. These features provide additional enclosure where required, offering flexibility between open and sheltered environments, as well as improved security outside school hours. All canopies were powder-coated in red to align with the school’s exterior colour scheme, helping the structures integrate seamlessly into their surroundings. Post protectors were also included to enhance safety in high-traffic pupil areas.
The canopy installation forms part of a major new school campus designed to support a large pupil population, with a strong focus on sustainability, outdoor learning and wellbeing.
Multiple Free Standing Mono Pitch canopies were installed across the site, creating continuous covered zones. Some include roller shutters and Easiglaze side glazing for added enclosure, while others provide open shelter for circulation. The modular design supported efficient installation while maintaining a consistent appearance across the school.
The completed installation has enhanced how outdoor spaces are used across the school, providing reliable shelter for year-round use and supporting activities from outdoor learning to play and social interaction. The canopies also improve movement between buildings during adverse weather, contributing to a more practical and comfortable environment.
