Twinfix recently completed the design, manufacture and installation of a bespoke free-standing mono-pitch canopy with integrated vertical glazing at the new modular building at St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight.
Developed to support the hospital’s expanding healthcare facilities, the modular building required a practical and visually cohesive canopy solution that would provide sheltered access for staff, patients and visitors, while complementing the clean, contemporary appearance of the new structure.
Twinfix recently completed the design, manufacture and installation of a bespoke free-standing mono-pitch canopy with integrated vertical glazing at St Mary’s Hospital, Isle of Wight. Designed to connect the hospital’s existing building with a new modular healthcare facility, the canopy provides a covered, accessible route for patients, staff and visitors throughout the year.
The project forms part of the hospital’s continued investment in modern healthcare infrastructure. Requiring a solution that balanced functionality, durability and aesthetics, the new modular building benefited from a bespoke canopy system that enhances weather protection, improves accessibility and complements the clean, contemporary appearance of the development.
Twinfix supplied and installed a free-standing mono-pitch canopy system featuring integrated vertical polycarbonate glazing to create a sheltered and partially enclosed access route between areas of the building.
Manufactured in-house at Twinfix’s Warrington facility, the canopy structure was designed to provide reliable weather protection while maintaining natural light throughout the walkway area. The addition of vertical glazing helps reduce exposure to wind and rain, creating a more comfortable environment for building users throughout the year.
The sleek aluminium framework and translucent glazing panels complement the modular building’s modern architectural design, helping the canopy integrate seamlessly with the wider healthcare environment.
