Twinfix was appointed by main contractor PF Modular to design, manufacture and install two new canopy structures at LeAF Studio School in Bournemouth, providing practical covered areas to support pupils, staff and visitors throughout the school day.
A key part of the project was the installation of a 42-metre-long free-standing mono-pitch walkway. The new structure provides an extensive covered route, helping pupils and staff move between areas of the school while remaining protected from the weather.
Alongside the walkway, Twinfix also designed, manufactured and installed a free-standing mono-pitch entrance canopy. Positioned at the school entrance, the canopy creates a clearly defined and sheltered arrival point, providing protection for pupils, staff and visitors entering and leaving the building.
Both structures feature robust aluminium frames, powder-coated to RAL 9011, creating a smart, contemporary finish that complements the school buildings.
The canopies were glazed using 16mm opal multiwall polycarbonate. The opal glazing allows natural daylight through while providing a softer, diffused light beneath the structures, helping to create bright and comfortable covered spaces.
Working alongside PF Modular, Twinfix managed the canopy package from design and manufacture through to installation on site.
