Twinfix Solar Walkways bring together the practicality of sheltered connections and the benefits of renewable energy generation. By incorporating photovoltaic panels into our canopy structures, we create walkways that protect users from the weather while supporting sustainability objectives. Designed for schools, healthcare sites, transport hubs, MOD facilities and commercial estates, Solar Walkways offer a forward-thinking solution for organisations seeking to make better use of their space and resources.
Every Solar Walkway is built using robust aluminium framing. Aluminium is lightweight, rust-free and infinitely recyclable, making it one of the most sustainable construction materials available. With its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and long service life, aluminium provides durability with minimal maintenance. Frames can be powder-coated to any RAL colour, allowing installations to either blend in with surrounding architecture or make a striking design statement.
Above, the walkway is fitted with our Solar-Link-Panels, which integrate photovoltaic cells directly into the canopy glazing. This dual-purpose solution ensures all the benefits of a covered walkway while simultaneously generating renewable electricity to help reduce site energy demand.
As with all our structures, Solar Walkways are designed and manufactured with safety and compliance at the forefront. Aluminium frames are UKCA marked in line with BS EN 1090-1, giving assurance of structural integrity and quality.
Where non-fragile performance is required, our Multi-Link-Panel NF system with polycarbonate glazing has been tested in assemblies to ACR[M]001:2019 and achieved Class B status. This provides proven overhead safety in many of our canopy and walkway solutions. While Solar-Link-Panels are specified for renewable energy, the same focus on robust design, structural strength and long-term reliability applies.

Colours & Coatings
Twinfix structures are finished with high-quality polyester powder coating, available in the full RAL range to complement any architectural scheme.
Timber-effect finishes provide the appearance of natural wood while retaining the durability and low maintenance of aluminium.
Solar Walkways are suited to a wide range of environments. In schools, they provide covered connections for pupils and staff while contributing to energy reduction initiatives. Healthcare facilities use them to link departments with sheltered access while demonstrating commitment to sustainability. Transport hubs, MOD sites and commercial developments benefit from structures that improve safety, support smooth movement of people, and generate renewable energy on site.
