The Twinfix Brise Soleil uses a series of angled blades in a horizontal or vertical configuration to control the amount of light and solar waves entering a building, reducing glare and overheating for occupants.
Brise Soleil can be installed to the exterior of any building, enhancing the aesthetics while providing shade and comfort to the people inside. They are a practical, attractive and long-term solution to solar gain for schools, retail outlets and other commercial buildings.
The solar shading structure comprises of a light weight, rust free aluminium frame that can be powder coated to any standard RAL colour and aluminium flat or ellipsoid blades (75mm to 300mm).
Structural elements will be CE marked in accordance with BS_EN 1090-1 – Structural Steel & Aluminium.
Grade 6063 extruded aluminium profiles in accordance with BS 1474.
Polyester powder coating in accordance to BS 6496:1984 and BS 12206-1:2004.
All fixings back to the main supporting structure are generally stainless-steel but will be calculated on a job specific basis. Product assembly fixings will be a mix of stainless-steel self-tapping screws and stainless-steel nuts and bolts.
Blade types of different shape and size are available to suit a variety of needs, the centres and pitch of these can be set to suit individual projects but as standard would be as follows:
|Blade Type||Blade Shape||Blade Pitch||Blade Centres|
|85mm||45°||75mm - 100mm|
|100mm||45°||110mm - 200mm|
|200mm||45°||200mm - 300mm|
|300mm||45°||400mm - 500mm|
Maximum projection for the cantilever option is generally 2000mm (subject to supporting building material), optional stainless-steel diagonal tie rod / brace arms can also be provided to increase frame spans.
Maximum support arms centres will vary depending on height above ground / wind loads but a general guide is below:
- 85mm flat blades – 1500mm max arm centres
- 100mm ellipsoid blades – 2000mm max arm centres
- 200mm ellipsoid blades – 2500mm max arm centres
- 300mm ellipsoid blades – 3000mm max arm centres
Central brace bars will be provided within the frame where required.
